Why has the RPS held a Special Resolution Vote?

RPS Crest in dark green

The RPS has proposed changes to our Royal Charter that include allowing us to become a royal college - the Royal College of Pharmacy. This required us to hold a Special Resolution Vote (SRV) of the membership, and two-thirds of votes must be in favour of the proposed changes for the SRV to pass.

Our members voted on these important changes between Thursday, 13 March and Monday, 24 March 2025.

As the Royal College of Pharmacy, we will...

  1. Create greater recognition for pharmacy
  2. Collaboratively shape the future of pharmacy
  3. Advance pharmacists to provide excellence in patient care
  4. Support workforce transformation
  5. Put patients at the forefront of our work

As a membership body, we pledge...

A transformed member experience – with member engagement, recognition, and community at its heart and member value at every stage of your career. Find out more about our commitments and our membership pledge
