Crowds at RPS Conference 2023Working across boundaries: Embracing new opportunities and empowering excellence

Our Annual Conference for 2024 was on Friday, 8 November, and was held again at Convene, 133 Houndsditch, London - and online.

As the biggest meeting of RPS members in the pharmaceutical calendar, there was a full programme of presentations, panel discussions, and interactive sessions.

Members also came from across the UK to celebrate the pharmacy profession, catch up with colleagues and friends, and network across the profession with pharmacists from all sectors, locations and career levels.

As a breast oncology surgeon who’s had breast cancer three times, Dr Liz O’Riordan has first-hand experience of both. Using her experiences as both a doctor and a patient, she is on a mission to change patient care!

    • During the morning session, understand the factors that contribute to medicines shortages and its impact on pharmacy practice and patient care.
    • In the afternoon, join a discussion-based session on our role in tackling medicine shortages and learn from successful interventions implemented in various healthcare settings.

    Advancing the Workforce

    • During the morning session, we will discover how innovative workforce models are reshaping the education and development of pharmacists and wider pharmacy team.
    • In the afternoon session, hear different perspectives and share your views in the great prescribing debate on the future of clinical supervision.

    Science & Research

    • During the morning session, explore groundbreaking innovations in technology from revolutionising the fight against misinformation and counterfeit medicines in pharmacy, to the future potential use of mRNA technology in personalised cancer care and pharmacogenetics in prescribing.
    • In the afternoon, be inspired by a showcase of innovative approaches and best practices for conducting impactful research and evaluation in pharmacy and hear presentations from the 2024 Harrison and OPERA Awards winners.

    • During the morning session, we’ll be building on the meaningful discussions taking place at our 16 nationwide Roadshow events focused on our ambitious proposals for change. Already attended your local roadshow event? Don’t worry, this session is still for you!
    • In the afternoon, we’ll be joined on stage by a number of key partner organisations. Learn how we’re working together through tangible and relevant examples to develop the profession, embrace new opportunities and breakdown barriers for pharmacists.

    The RPS Annual Conference is FREE for RPS Members.

    We strive to make our Conference fully accessible. Please get in touch with the Events Team regarding your requirements. 

    We will again have on-site professional childcare free of charge, as well as dedicated spaces for a multi-faith prayer room and quiet room.
