Lowri joined the Welsh Pharmacy Board in June 2022. Lowri currently splits her time working as a specialist Rheumatology pharmacist for Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board, lecturing on the post-graduate independent prescribing course for Bangor University and working as a community pharmacist. Lowri is passionate about pharmacy and ensuring patients have the best pharmaceutical care.
After graduating from Cardiff University, Lowri returned to North Wales to complete an integrated pre registration year split between community pharmacy, hospital pharmacy and primary care. During this year she won first place at the North Wales research symposium for her service improvement project on the impact of targeted Respiratory MUR’s on patient’s Asthma control.
After qualifying as a pharmacist, Lowri completed the postgraduate diploma in Clinical Pharmacy whilst working as a rotational pharmacist at Ysbyty Gwynedd, Bangor.
In 2020 Lowri decided to undergo a change in her career to work in community pharmacy full time. During this time Lowri qualified as an independent prescriber and completed a module in Minor Illness through Bangor University. Lowri is passionate about community pharmacy and the impact a community pharmacist can have on improving patient care through the delivery of clinical services.
In June 2022, Lowri began working as a specialist pharmacist in Rheumatology. Lowri relishes in directly improving patient care. She works as a member of the multi-disciplinary team to carie for complex patients and optimising their pharmaceutical care.
Lowri has a passion for education and training and is working as a lecturer on the post-graduate independent prescribing course for Bangor University. Lowri feels privileged to be involved in the development of future independent prescribers, ensuring patient care is at the core of their practice.
