Eleri Schiavone

Eleri currently serves as the Head of Blood Donations at the Welsh Blood Service, where she oversees a comprehensive portfolio that involves close collaboration with hospitals across Wales. Her role is crucial in balancing supply and demand, ensuring equitable access for donors, and maintaining high levels of service satisfaction.
Before assuming her current position, Eleri was the Medicines Optimisation Lead Pharmacist for the NHS Wales Joint Commissioning Committee. In this capacity, she managed the High-Cost Drugs database for specialized medicines and played a leading role in developing commissioning policies for specialized medicines in Wales.
With nearly two decades of experience in the NHS, primarily within the managed sector, Eleri has built a robust foundation in healthcare management. She has also worked extensively in clinical specialist roles, including as an independent prescribing pharmacist.
Eleri is deeply committed to education and shared learning. Her passion has led her to support a variety of HIV and Hepatitis C initiatives in the UK, as well as charitable projects in Pakistan, South Africa, and Tanzania.
