Richard currently works for NHS Education for Scotland as a Senior Educator in the Foundation Training Year Team. This principally involves supporting development and delivery of the national training programme for trainee pharmacists across Scotland including the integration of independent prescribing.
After graduating from the University of Strathclyde he worked in University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust for a number of years, within acute medicine wards and an infectious diseases clinic before becoming an Advanced Specialist Pharmacist in the admissions and emergency department. During this time he undertook his postgraduate diploma in Clinical Pharmacy and independent prescribing qualification in infectious diseases/HIV.
Richard values the opportunity to support development of the pharmacy workforce across Scotland and the UK, being actively involved in a number of additional roles and committees through the RPS, GPhC and De Montfort University.
