Lucy has unique historical and current cross-sector experience. She qualified in 2003 and obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy in 2008 from Robert Gordon University. She has been a practicing Independent Prescriber since 2009 and has undertaken advanced Quality Improvement training.

Lucy has previously worked Community Pharmacy and Acute and Primary Care Pharmacy. She been in her current role as NHS Highland Macmillan Specialist Palliative Care Pharmacist for two years and provides palliative care clinical pharmacy services to the Highland Hospice and the wider Highland and Argyll & Bute areas. She is also Deputy to the NHSH Associate Director of Pharmacy (Community Services). As a senior pharmacist, she has experience in policy and service development and delivery.

Lucy has been an independent community pharmacy co-contractor since 2006 helping to deliver extended pharmacy services on the high-street in remote and rural communities. In her Scottish Government role, she leads and contributes towards the development and delivery of digital support tools, including the Scottish Therapeutics Utility. Her aim now is to help to bring all sectors of pharmacy together to enable and promote a truly holistic, integrated and patient centred service.
