RPS in the media on ADHD medicine shortages

Amidst the current shortages of Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder medication, RPS spokespeople have been talking to the media about how pharmacists can help patients get the medicines they need.

RPS Fellow Ade Williams was recently featured on Channel 5 News speaking about what pharmacists are doing to help their patients get access to their medicines. RPS spokesperson, Laura Humphrey, also spoke with BBC Radio 4 You and Yours programme about what you can do as a patient if you're struggling to get a hold of your medication.

The Department of Health and Social Care released a National Patient Safety Alert saying the shortages have been caused by a combination of manufacturing problems and an increase in global demand, with the supply issue to be resolved between October and December 2023.

Watch Ade’s interview with Channel 5 News about how pharmacists are helping patients get the medicines they need.

Listen to Laura speak with BBC Radio 4 You and Yours on why the shortages are happening and what we want to see as a solution.
